Top Tech Highlights

Notion launches agents for data analysis and task automation

Notion introduced its first AI agent, which can analyze a user’s pages and databases to generate notes, reports, dashboards, and more, even pulling data from platforms like Slack, email, and Google Drive. Unlike Notion AI’s earlier summarization tools, the new agent handles complex multistep tasks, stores user-defined “memories,” and follows custom instructions through a profile page.

Google brings Gemini in Chrome to US users, unveils agentic browsing capabilities, and more

Google is expanding Gemini in Chrome to all U.S. desktop users on Mac and Windows, with features like AI-powered search in the address bar, scam protection, and automatic password resets on the horizon. Users can now use Gemini to simplify complex information on any webpage, as well as summarize and compare content across multiple tabs for tasks like planning trips or shopping.

OpenAI might be developing a smart speaker, glasses, voice recorder, and a pin

OpenAI is reportedly working with Jony Ive on a lineup of AI devices, starting with a screen-free smart speaker and potentially expanding to glasses, a wearable pin, and a digital voice recorder, with launches expected around 2026–2027. The company has tapped Apple’s supply chain partners like Luxshare and Goertek, while also luring former Apple hardware talent to build its consumer hardware division.

First look at the Google Home app powered by Gemini

Google is redesigning its Home app to highlight Gemini, adding an “Ask Home” search bar that lets users type or speak commands to control devices or review home history. The update streamlines usability and aligns with Gemini’s upcoming integration into Google’s smart speakers and displays for natural language control.

What You Really Need to Know

Smart Home, Smart Glasses, Smart AI Plays

The week’s stories show how aggressively the big players are baking AI into everyday life: Google is stuffing Gemini into Chrome, Home, and even smart home controls; Notion launched an AI agent that can run 20-minute workflows across your whole workspace; and OpenAI, with Jony Ive, is plotting its own hardware push from smart speakers to glasses.

The key takeaway is clear: AI isn’t just a software feature anymore — it’s becoming the core operating layer for browsers, productivity tools, and even physical devices. And all of this momentum came in the same week Meta Connect dropped its own updates, making the AI race feel like it’s moving into a new, more tangible phase.
