At CES 2025, Swiss startup Nutrix AG presented cortiSense, a new at-home testing device that provides individualized wellness plans by tracking cortisol levels in saliva. The device is designed to identify and reduce employee burnout along with the organizational costs that accompany it. cortiSense is set to launch by the end of this year, and it’s compatible with the gSense app that’ll offer both physical and mental health support services.

Google Unveils an AI-Powered TV That Summarizes the News for You at CES 2025

Google’s AI-powered TV feature, News Brief, utilizes their Gemini AI assistant to summarize the daily news. Simply asking Gemini for the News Brief will activate the AI feature which combs through online sources and YouTube headlines to provide a short summary of current events. News Brief is one part of the company’s overarching view of how Gemini can make TVs more interactive, and it’s scheduled to go live on Google TV by the end of this year.

Nvidia Unveils Robot Training Tech, New Gaming Chips and Toyota Deal

Nvidia has announced several new products this week, further expanding its business. The tech giant has released Cosmos foundation models, which can be used for creating robot-training and photo-realistic videos, along with new gaming chips, and its first desktop computer designed for programming. While Nvidia has not yet specified a release date for the Cosmos foundation models, its gaming chips and desktop computer will be released gradually from January to March.

The Pinwheel Watch is coming to market, serving as a ‘kid-proof’ alternative to the Apple Watch. The smartwatch supports two-way video calls and features sturdy parental controls. In addition, the Pinwheel Watch also comes equipped with an AI chatbot that only gives age-appropriate responses and can be closely monitored by parents. 

Panasonic Unveils an AI-Powered Wellness Coach, Powered by Anthropic’s Claude, at CES 2025

AT CES 2025, Panasonic showcased Umi, an AI-driven personalized family wellness coach. Through an interactive digital platform, Umi connects people with a community of experts and helps families build wellness routines. Panasonic’s innovative AI coach features an interactive interface with voice chat and is slated to be available as a mobile app mid-year.

CES 2025: L'Oréal Launches Skin Analysis Device

L'Oréal has partnered with Korean startup NanoEnTek to create a device, the L’Oréal Cell BioPrint, which gives users closer insights into their skin. To use the device, users take a tape strip sample of their skin, from which they can discover insights like biological age, responsiveness to skincare ingredients, early pore and dark spot detection, and more. The device is set to pilot in Asia later this year.

NASA Wants to Explore the Icy Moons of Jupiter and Saturn With Autonomous Robots

NASA plans to send multiple underwater robots to Jupiter’s Europa and Saturn’s Enceladus with the hope that there are “vast internal oceans” underneath their icy surfaces. The robots will measure things such as temperature, pressure, acidity, electrical conductivity, and chemical composition, and they can overlap observations to ensure higher accuracy. With this effort, scientists are most interested to see whether there are signs of life on either of the moons.
