Spotify will label ‘AI Persona’ profiles and exclude their music from recommendations
Spotify is introducing “AI Persona” tags to clearly identify artists with AI-generated identities across profiles, searches, and playlists. These artists will also be excluded from editorial and algorithmic recommendations unless a user explicitly chooses to follow them.
YouTube now requires creators to have twice as many watch hours to start earning money
YouTube is raising the bar for new creators to earn money, doubling required watch hours and demanding 20 million Shorts views within 90 days—while existing Partner Program members remain unaffected. The platform is also tightening ongoing Shorts payouts but expanding Premium Lite globally, giving established creators another potential revenue boost.
Made by Google 2026: Pixel 11 Series, Foldable, Watch 5 and everything announced
Google’s Made by Google event delivered a packed hardware refresh, including the Pixel 11 series, a sturdier Pixel 11 Pro Fold, the Pixel Watch 5 and the new Pixel Tag tracker. While few announcements came as a surprise, upgraded cameras, AI-powered features and easier iPhone-to-Android switching gave Pixel fans plenty to watch.
Apple is reportedly turning to publishers for help with Siri AI
Apple is reportedly negotiating with news publishers to bring timely, reliable information to its redesigned Siri AI, expected with iOS 27 later this year. The proposed pay-per-use deals suggest Apple is still gathering the ingredients needed to help Siri catch up with its AI rivals.
DeepMind’s newest model allows pixel 11 devices to transcribe sign language into text
Google’s Pixel 11 introduces DeepMind’s new sign-language-to-text model, allowing deaf and hard-of-hearing users to sign directly into Gboard, Live Transcribe, and Gemini. Launching with ASL-to-English translation, the privacy-conscious technology will expand to more languages and devices over time.
